About

The essence of Western culture is the scientific, that is, systematic and objective, approach to knowledge. The Bible, the living foundation of Western culture, can only truly be understood scientifically, and in this case through the science of language – philology.

This website is dedicated to understanding the Bible through its original languages – Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, and thereby to render it alive and relevant to the on-going quest of man to comprehend himself and the world around him through the approach of the modern mind – science.

The philological analysis and science rendition start with Genesis 1:1 and will work through each subsequent verse in sequence. Needless to say, this is a lifelong work, and will likely not be completed, but will provide the basis for others so inclined and able.

Each text is set out as follows:

Chapter/Verse: e.g., Genesis 1:1

King James Version (KJV):

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.

Keywords:

In the beginning, ALHYM created SHMYM and ARTZ.

[The key words in each verse are explicated in footnotes, each Hebraic letter-symbol complex being transliterated according to the code set out in the Resources page]

Science Rendition

[the rendering of the Hebraic text based on the explication in the footnotes into scientific terms, that is, in terms of powers, forces and energies operative in Creation].

Footnotes (for each of the keywords)

This format will enable you to compare the different texts – original, English translation, Science Rendition – at a glance and also understand how the Science Rendition of the original was arrived at. Of course, given the nature of the source languages, various renditions are possible, though they should convey the same meaning, much as there can be various explications of the Second Law of Thermodynamics, but all essentially saying the same thing.
